Kailua is a quaint, sunny beach town offering residents an array of activities from windsurfing and kayaking at Kailua Beach Park to neighborhood shopping centers, restaurants, churches, fitness centers, public and private schools and Castle hospital. Homes built along waterways are abundant here. There are homes built along North Kalaheo Avenue and the landmark Kealepulu Pond has given rise to the Enchanted Lake subdivision and shopping center. Surrounding the town are several townhouses and condominiums, two of which border the peaceful conservation area of Kaelepuli Stream. The newest addition to the area is the Bluffs located on rolling hillside. Residents can take the Pali Highway to downtown Honolulu, a 30 minute drive.
